Not quiet for a light sleeper, January 2, 2014

This humidifier is actually very new and I think people confuse it with the old model V745.
I purchased this humidifier last week at Target because I was suffering from a cold. I had a dry cough, sinus congestion, and a runny nose. I wanted a warm mist because it is winter and I do not want a cool mist humidifier to make my room cold when I sleep.

I am a very light sleeper and the sound of the water boiling(low setting) is not whisper quiet in my opinion. I have it placed by my side of the bed so maybe if it were placed further away, such as the foot of the bed, it would be quieter. However I want the humidity to be concentrated near me while I sleep. The night light bothers me so I covered it with a few layers of blue painters tape. I have it placed on a large metal tray since the instructions say to place it on waterproof material. A full gallon lasts throughout the night on low setting so I don’t have to worry about it shutting off in the middle of the night. It does not leak(so far) and am content with its performance other than the noise level for my sensitive ears. I have become more used to the noise in comparison to the first few nights. My boyfriend is a deep sleeper and has no issues with the sound.

We will continue to use it throughout winter and future winters however we will look into a cool mist humidifier for use during summers.

    **UPDATE**
I’ve been using this for about 3-4 weeks now and luckily have had NO leaking issues. I use filtered water and I do leave it filled when it is not in use (for a few days even) and still, no leaking. Not sure if it’s luck or I have a good one from a good batch! I’ll keep updating if anything changes. I have also added a short video for others to hear the noise level of the humidifier on low setting.

Growing up in California we had dry heat during winter and used humidifiers often. Most leave your carpet wet or have these little screens you must replace (which get moldy fast). However this product puts out a lot of vapor and doesn’t spit water on your floor. It is super easy to clean and the container easily pops off and takes a few seconds to fill up. Depending on the build up in your local water supply you need to rinse it out once a week and this process takes 20 seconds. I never use the Vicks add on stuff but this model is just a great product. It auto turns off if it runs out of water.

But MOST IMPORTANTLY it puts out lots of vapor!

    Perfect!!!, January 6, 2014

The warm mist is almost like steam. I did not find it loud at all. Occasionally there is a little gurgling sound but it is oddly comforting. It has added humidity to about 600 square feet of open area in my home. The light that someone alluded to is really not bright. If it bothered me, I think I’d turn the humidifier away from me.

I live in Arizona where the humidity hovers around 10%. I’ve had a horrible cold & cough for two weeks. Hubby ran out & bought this last night after another miserable coughing fit. For the first time, I slept through the night. My head doesn’t feel like it is ready to explode.
